Egg values depend heavily on whether the egg is still purchasable in-game — retired eggs tend to hold or gain value over time as supply stops growing while newer eggs stay easy to obtain. Why an Egg's Value Isn't the Same as What Hatches From It

An unhatched egg is priced on expected value, not on any single pet it might contain. Every egg has a published or community-estimated hatch table — a spread of odds across Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra-Rare, and Legendary pets. An egg with even a small chance at a Legendary is worth meaningfully more than one whose table tops out at Rare, even if both cost the same number of Bucks to buy. That's also why hatched pets from the same egg can trade at wildly different values from each other — the egg sets the odds, the roll decides the outcome.

Current vs. Retired Eggs

Eggs fall into two broad states: still purchasable in the shop, or retired and only available through trading. Retired eggs are the ones worth watching closely — once an egg leaves the shop, its supply is fixed while demand from newer players keeps growing, which is the main reason older eggs slowly climb in value over time. A currently-purchasable egg, by contrast, rarely holds much trade value on its own since anyone can just buy a fresh one.

Tips for Trading Eggs

Unhatched vs. hatched An unhatched egg and a hatched pet from that same egg are two very different trade items — don't assume they're interchangeable. Confirm which one is actually being offered.

Should I hatch an egg or trade it unhatched?

If the egg is retired and rising in value, some collectors prefer to hold it unhatched. If you want a specific pet, hatching is the only way to find out what you get — there's no way to guarantee the outcome.

Do egg values change after an update?

Yes. When a new egg replaces an older one in the shop, the older egg typically becomes retired and its trade value often rises as it becomes scarcer.
